Brandon Johnson didn’t come from a script—he built one. From homelessness and incarceration to earning a scholarship at the University of San Diego, playing professionally, and overcoming a college scandal that led to an FBI investigation, his journey is a story of resilience, accountability, and transformation. Today, as the founder of No Script, Brandon speaks across the country in schools, juvenile facilities, prisons, and NCAA programs—using his story to guide youth and adults toward discipline, purpose, and a better future.
BRANDON'S FULL STORY
Brandon Johnson’s story is built on resilience, redemption, and purpose. From competing as a Division I athlete at the University of San Diego to pursuing professional basketball opportunities, Brandon experienced both success and adversity firsthand. After facing difficult life challenges, including serving six months in prison and losing everything he had built, Brandon made the decision to rebuild his life with purpose and impact. Those experiences gave him a deeper understanding of the struggles many young people and families face, while reinforcing his belief that life has no set path — there is truly “No Script.”
Out of those experiences, The No Script Nonprofit was created. Built on the principle of “Education Through Experiences,” the organization exists to inspire, educate, and empower youth and communities through real-life lessons, mentorship, life skills, leadership development, and fitness programming. Brandon uses his personal journey to show others that mistakes, setbacks, and adversity do not have to define a person’s future.
With the mission “Change the Mind, Change the Future,” No Script focuses on helping individuals grow mentally, emotionally, and physically while creating opportunities for positive transformation. Brandon’s story serves as proof that even after losing everything, it is possible to rebuild, lead, and create impact for others.
